1st January 2012

So, a new year – what will 2012 bring to us in Turkey?

Apparently the Turkish government is planning action on the advertising and sale of alcohol here.  CLICK HERE It will be interesting to see if and how this affects us in this area so heavily dependent on tourism.

The town continues to struggle in a sea of mud following the heavy rain of the last few days.
We went down to the Yagmur Hotel to see how their rebuilding project is progressing (see below).   Fortunately for them, they are sufficiently far from the sea not to be affected by the high water table.  Yilmaz and Kamil still reckon they are on target to open the new building on 15th March – watch this space!

If you haven’t already seen it, have a look at the For Sale section from the homepage – quite a lot of things are available to give your homes a boost for the new year.

It’s always a strange time between Christmas and the New Year – particularly in a country where Christmas isn’t celebrated.  Let’s hope life gets back to normal now – I need some new and exciting information to pass on to you.

In the meantime, a very Happy New Year to everybody – mutlu yillar.
